DARE TO BE DIFFERENT! Hi Steve here... A business takes determination and drive with bright ideas that will make you stand out from the crowd. Have you ever asked yourself "well why should customers come to me? What makes us special? What am I doing different to everyone else that makes me unique." Hmmm....intresting! A salon in the UK recently has had this idea to make them different, They prefer to call their clients guests and book them in time slots rather than for services. The stylists discuss with their guests all the desires for cut, color, and the total look. Then they agree a time which has a cost and the appointment is made. They then make sure that their guest is pampered, and leaves the salon feeling and looking fantastic. Try this for a half hour staff meeting: Take your team and pose this question to them: "What 3 things could we do that is different and unique to all the other Salons in our area?" Split into small groups and let them discuss this for about 10 minuets. Then take 2 of the best answers from the group and expand the ideas. Create a objective map like this one ![]() and put down every idea you come up with even if they seem stupid sometimes they can spark creative thinking! Then take the best idea and use this in all your marketing and plug it to death. Catch you later Steve....
