Keeping Clients food for thought.

Its all very well using a Fantastic system if your going keep your clients!!!!!

New customers are the lifeblood of any industry.

Year on year demand for Hairdressing and beauty therapy treatments is growing as people become more and more interested in the health and appearance in a stressed and ageing population.

You only have to look at all the TV shows that are dedicated to it to know that. Each year, thousands of women, and increasingly men, have to make a decision about where to try a hairdressing or beauty treatment for the first time. It’s up to you to attract them to your salon and then to keep them.

Satisfy your clients

Understanding how to satisfy your clients with the services they receive in your salon is one thing and essential for growth. But its having all the other stuff in place as well, like a formal complaints procedure. Even if there is only 2 of you or 200 its all the same what happens when a client complains how do you ensure that she is dealt with as well with someone else as she would be with you? Finding out what clients feel more generally is the other. Regularly assessing client satisfaction, including questionnaires, discussions on completion of treatments, feedback sheets and analysis of repeat business. Sounds a lot not really you don’t have to go over board just some simple notes, sheets but the feed back will blow you away. And think of it from your clients perspective they will love it! If you don’t take care of your clients, someone else will !
Oh yes and another thing look who gets the best tips bet their the ones with great customer service……………………..

Write out procedures system

One of the easiest ways to write out procedures system is to put pen to paper and write down step by step how you would deal with it. A great friend of mine who passed away recently was a great mentor for me and was extremely successful in business. He always said to me, if you want your business run like you would run it the you must write down every thing you do and in what order you do it because that’s what’s made you successful. And if you think about that its so true if you go into the salon and turn the music on, then the lights then put the coffee machine on then check thru the client bookings list THEN SO SHOULD YOUR MANAGER because that’s what made YOU successful; and that’s why you have a salon and they don’t RIGHT!!!!!! Why does everyone want to reinvent the wheel.

Now I am not saying they should not have their own personality, no just do it the way you want it done, unless they can prove to you its better their way with some results or evidence to support that fact. Remember you intuition and gut feelings are years of experience telling you something OK !

Just do it
